August Classes – Restoring Joy

fieldLiving in a state of Joy is an incredible experience!

You can learn to release your stress, anxiety and worry – restoring your joy!  It’s about quieting the  mind, restoring balance in the body and opening the heart. It’s also very simple when you have a guide lighting the way. You only need a focused intention, the determination to succeed and a heart that’s ready for healing.  Here are three opportunities this month.  (in Raven, VA)

  • Awareness – August 11th and 25th (10-12 noon).  Learn how to calm your mind, restore your joy and find your self. We have so much to learn, it’s an everlasting continuing process of opening to the truth of who we are. 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month (10am – noon).  Bring a dish to share afterwards for fellowship and fun. Gift donation – please give as you receive so the giving is always able to continue.
  • Ascending Mediation – August 30  (8 week program Aug 30 – Oct 25th). Focused on clearing your mind, opening your heart, and restoring your inner peace and physical balance.  Through this program you become responsible for your life, empowered with tools to make a real difference. Friday night 6:30 – 8pm. Bring fruit or veggies to share afterwards. Gift donation – please give as you receive so the giving is always able to continue.

A Life of Purpose

People area always asking me, “What’s am I suppose to be doing with my life?”   The answer is simple “Have a life of purpose.”   So, if you don’t have clarity in your life, it’s time to wake up to your dreams and desires; to wake up to your joy and bring purpose to your life. Of course, I can’t tell you what to do, but I can help guide you to finding your own answer. 🙂

STEP 1: Relax in your inner joy.

Let’s begin by just relaxing and letting all your thoughts of worry and stress and doubt go. Just close your eyes and spend a few minutes focused on your breathing. Focus on the in and out of the breath – over and over again – remembering we are Spirit. Much greater than just our body. We are also a child of the Divine – always loved.  Right now we are living in a time on Earth of great shifting and we feel a need to fix things, however, remember all things are in Divine timing. It is exactly as it should be for right now and if we wish to create a joyful experience in our society, then it is in joy that we make the changes.

It is not in need or in anger or in disgust that we change anything. Instead, it in through a playful creation of choosing something you enjoy for this life. Just try to image life as playful as a peaceful existence. What would that feel like?  Focus on your joy and your happiness – feeling it deep within you – and promise yourself that you will hold that feeling for the rest of the day – that it will remain at the core of your being. Focus on the breath again, the in and out. Focus on your fingers and toes – wiggle them around a bit and Now, when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes.

STEP 2: Making a List of Joy.

Now, let’s take a bit of ‘me-time’ to identify who you are, what you feel and what makes you happy in the development of your LIST OF JOY. Write down all your talents, dreams, passions, loves. For instance…

  1. I love to dance
  2. I make healing herbal products
  3. I love to play with my children
  4. Painting restore my love of life
  5. I am great at gathering people together
  6. I’m a natural leader
  7. etc…

STEP 3: Making a List of Concerns.

It is easy to see differences in our world when comparing it to the peaceful world of our imagination. However, the peace is here, we just need to grow it.  As you look out into the world, into your life, you recognize things that don’t feel right. Start writing what these are and create your LIST OF CONCERNS. If it doesn’t feel right to you, put it on the list. You might be adding to this list for several days, weeks or months.  Just take it one step at a time. (The following is an example of someone starting a LIST OF CONCERNS)

  1. My boss is abusive towards his employees
  2. The rainforest is disappearing, so are the trees in my neighborhood.
  3. The chemicals lacing our food is excessive.
  4. Drone attacks are inhumane
  5. Society is too separated, fences between neighbors, invisible lines between nations, etc…
  6. There is so much judgement – all people, regardless of their religious or life-style choices should be treated equality, as long as no one is harmed.
  7. etc…

STEP 4: Imagining Solutions.

Next, see if you can imagine solutions to any of things on your LIST OF CONCERNS.  Pay attention to which things are most important to you and also note when your HAPPY LIST offers part of a solution. This may take a while… just be patient and give each item the attention it deserves.

STEP 5: Choose 1-3 items of interest.

Now you have clarity to things you would like to change and are able to change.  Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to fix too many problems. You are only one person and success is easier to achieve when you are focused on just a few items. So, choose 1-3 items that meet the following criteria…

  1. You see the problem (it’s on your SAD LIST).
  2. You can imagine a solution.
  3. You have strengths on your HAPPY LIST that enable you to achieve results.
  4. And you can do this in joy and happiness.

STEP 6: Developing the dream.

These ideas are in a delicate state and can easily be destroyed if shared with the wrong people. They might bust your bubble, taking away your confidence and your power. So, only share these ideas with your friends or family that can be trusted to support you.  Talk about the solutions, how they are achieved, how you could do it, what it will look like and how it will feel when it’s completed.

STEP 7: Bringing it into physical.

Take action to do create something to represent your ideas and dreams in the physical world. This may be a painting, a diagram, a model, a proposal, etc…

STEP 8: Build support and interest.

At this point you will usually be strong enough in your ideas and plans that you can start sharing them with everyone who may be interested. Perhaps they may want to help or support this plan.  Perhaps they just need to know what you’re doing so they don’t think you’ve lost your marbles.

STEP 9: Have fun.

Be a joy creator in rebuilding our world. After all, if we all chose to live in integrity and inner joy, then imagine how happy our neighbors will be and how accomplished we’ll feel when we’re at the end of our life, looking back.

Drones Incinerating Suspected Terrorist Lead to New Solutions

Sometimes I am so happy to see the awakening among our people and sometimes I wonder how long they will allow the oppression of others continue.  Don’t they see this War on Terror only creates more terror? The anger towards the USA started because of the abuses and atrocities we committed. If the USA was a child, you would scold them and make them apologize, perhaps even punish them if their offense had caused others harm. However, this USA child doesn’t have a parent and instead is on a king-trip, believing they are able to do whatever they want. If you disagree, they call you a terrorist, or ‘suspected terrorist’ and do you know what they do to suspected terrorist?  I didn’t.

Imagine my surprise when I read this article called The Least Likely Spy where Arvil Haines, the top lawyer for the National Security Council, is sometimes summoned in the middle of the night to weigh in on whether a suspected terrorist could be lawfully incinerated by a drone strike…. What?  I read it several times just to make sure I understood what I was reading. Granted, it doesn’t say they actually incinerated the suspect, but to realize they even considered it leaves me a bit in shock.

Can you imagine a drone strike happening in your neighborhood with the purpose of incinerating someone ‘suspected’ of a crime?  How would YOU feel about the ‘good old USA’ if this happened to you? Dwell on that long enough and it can make you feel pretty sick inside, however, it is exactly this identification that is so important to those of us who desire a peaceful world. It is this acknowledgement of “what’s wrong in our world” that drives us to find another way, a kinder way of living.

So, don’t dwell too long on the sadness of this situation, instead think of solutions and if you find this subject a priority in your life, start applying your energy to those solutions.

DOMA Down / Liberty Wins

Congratulations to all the same-sex couples out there.  The 17-year-old Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) that denies federal benefits — like Social Security benefits or the ability to file joint tax returns — to same-sex couples legally married has been struck down by Justice Anthony Kennedy who wrote, “DOMA is unconstitutional as a deprivation of the liberty of the person protected by the Fifth Amendment”.  I completely agree!

All marriages should be recognized as legal, so state and federal benefits can be received.  Applying your personal religious beliefs should be done on an individual basis. This is why separation of church and state is so important – let each religion choose what they believe concerning marriage, because, applying Christian standards to all marriages is NOT freedom of religion.

For those who don’t know, DOMA impacts around 1,100 federal laws, including veterans’ benefits, family medical leave and tax laws. Currently, there are about 130,000 married same-sex couples in the United States who up to this point were treated as unmarried as it pertained to those federal laws.  That’s all changing now!  🙂

It’s a wonderful thing to watch as people wake up to their inner kindness. It all starts with accepting the differences of others. One day we will love each other for all those differences that make us each so special.

The Joy Of Death

If you knew how incredible the joy experienced by the spirit within you is as it returns home; the celebration thrown by your many relations to acknowledge this return – all your sadness would melt away and you would glow with happiness for every loved one who’s returned to our spiritual home.

However, the human mind doesn’t understand, so it clings to and longs for the return of the loved one – for that way it was. This brings misery to you and your loved one, because, as a spirit, their love for you is magnified. No longer containing fear, worry or doubt, they radiate in the silence of universal song, in pure love so intense the human cannot begin to understand.

They feel your pain and sadness so intensely, every emotion you have is magnified to them. Every time you hurt and dwell within your sadness, they feel it so much more. So, instead of returning to the perfection, to the paradise of home, they will stay close to you, loving you, as long as it takes, until they know you are okay.

In letting them go, in releasing them and returning to your life, you show them true love. Enabling them to live in joy until it’s your time to cross the realms and join them in paradise, in perfect timing. How amazing that reunion will be!

One is Illusion and the Other is Truth

What is at the core of a person? What motivates the voice they hear
when they are alone. This is the voice that talks to us all the
time, it analyses, it predicts, it’s logical, it’s calculating,
and it’s usually hiding it’s fears deep inside, lost in confusion.

It radiates the
essence of fear.

It might be the fear of losing a job, or losing children, family,
home, career, life, of hunger. It’s speaks to us of a fear of failure, fear of rejection, fear of success, and at the core of it all is usually the fear of pain and the fear of death.

These are the fears people have and walk around with every moment of every day. Most of the time, we hide them well. We tuck them in so deep that we can not even hear them unless we’re alone and quiet, so we stay busy. We work longer hours, we keep the family busy with activities, we turn the tv on or find anything to distract – a new project, a new endeavor, a new book.

We have developed these fears over time, conditioned from childhood and
they aren’t simply going away because we have built our life around them.
We have made our choices from a fear based platform.

When you learn through fear, your whole life is based upon control and manipulation.

You must go to school or else.
You must obey or else.
You must repent or else.
You must listen or else.
You must work or else

This fear has permeated our life for many, many years and we have
built our personality and made our choices around this essence of
fear. If we do not make changes, then we will continue to live from
this place of fear. Fear is part of the realm of forgetfulness…

As you awaken from this realm and begin to remember, you must go
through the process of cleansing these programs. Releasing them and
re-learning… to CONSCIOUSLY CHOOSE TO CHANGE WHO WE ARE.

It is a reprogramming of our thoughts and this takes much awareness
as you analysis each thought and belief to find its origin. Was
this thought your choice or did someone implant it?

Choose the ones you will keep, choose the ones to remove and AS YOU
REMOVE THEM, BEGIN REPLACING THEM WITH YOUR CHOICE!

Now, you are consciously choosing to change the energy of fear to a
new vibration – the higher vibration of acceptance, of compassion,
of love. As you release the fear, this process will bring you back
to the truth of who you are. You are not a being of fear. You are an
eternal being of love, temporarily lost in a fog, a veil, an illusion of
forgetfulness.

Practicing ascending techniques begins to change our vibration,
eventually returning to our truth, a core of love. As we become more
conscious of our choices and we practice shifting our vibrations
we become different.

The confusion begins to leave as we begin to remember. Our essence
changes, our understanding grows, forgiveness releases the bonds and
we are light and free.

No one or institution is needed to control us any more as we step out into the world to achieve those things we choose – in full respect of others and a desire for a greater world for all life.

It takes just as much work, constant reprogramming, constant
awareness and releasing. It is about remembering and trusting
again. It is about accepting the truths around us, just as
they are, instead of wishing for them to be different. It’s about
deep honesty and authenticity in every step of life.

However, once love is there, fear is no longer, because they can not
be in the same place at the same time. You can not be in true fear
and in true love at the same time.

One is illusion and the other is truth.
